AfriHauler ("we", "our", or "us") is a haulage marketplace operating in Ghana that connects customers with transporters. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our mobile application and website (collectively, the "Platform").
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information: • Account Information: Your name, phone number, and password when you register. • Profile Information: Vehicle details, licence information, and profile photos for transporters. • Location Data: GPS coordinates during active jobs to enable live tracking. Location is only shared with the relevant customer during an active delivery. • Job Data: Details of jobs posted, bids submitted, and deliveries completed. • Payment Information: Transaction records for jobs completed on the Platform. We do not store card or mobile money credentials. • Device Information: Device type, operating system, and push notification tokens for app notifications.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: • Provide, operate, and improve the Platform • Match customers with suitable transporters • Enable real-time job tracking • Process payments and maintain transaction records • Send job notifications and platform updates • Verify transporter identities and vehicle documents • Comply with applicable laws and regulations in Ghana
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following circumstances: • Between customers and transporters: When a job is awarded, both parties can see each other's name, phone number, and relevant job details. • Service providers: We use Supabase for database and authentication services, and Africa's Talking for SMS notifications. These providers process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality obligations. • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by Ghanaian law or legal process.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Job and transaction records are retained for a minimum of 5 years in accordance with Ghanaian financial regulations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at info@afrihauler.com.
6. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), row-level security on our database, and secure authentication. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
